Fingerprint Stone Shield is a Greatshield in Elden Ring. The Fingerprint Stone Shield is a Shield that scales primarily with Strength. Greatshields weigh a decent amount and provide the best protection in the game. Greatshields provide a greater value of blocking and protecting one's self from enemy and boss attacks, but greatly increases the weight and reduces the player's mobility. This type of shield works best at reducing damage or guarding instead of parrying.
A great stone shield with an intricately carved fingerprint design.
One of the heaviest of all greatshields.
Part of the tomb of an ancient god, the Readerless Fingers relayed their message through these imprints, said to be the very seeds from which frenzy first sprouted.
Elden Ring Fingerprint Stone Shield Notes & Tips
- Shield Skill: Shield Bash
- Skill Description: Brace behind shield before using bodyweight to ram foes while maintaining guarding stance. Weaker enemies will be shoved backwards, and can even be staggered.
- This shield can be infused with Ashes of War and buffed with Magic and Consumables.
- Prior to Patch 1.07, using Scholar's Shield would grant this weapon 100% Guard Boost and excellent damage negation.
- Since Patch 107, the Guard Boost has been reduced.
- If set to an Arcane scaling affinity (Occult, Blood, or Poison), the default Madness build up on this weapon will also increase with points spent on Arcane.
- If Magic infusion is applied, it receives up to 96.25% magic damage reduction at the slight cost of guard boost and physical damage reduction.
- If Fire infusion is applied, it receives up to 100% fire damage reduction at the slight cost of guard boost and physical damage reduction, making this shield very useful against enemies using fire-based attacks as it can completely block fire damages.
- It can be countered by using the Coded Sword and Cipher Pata's weapon skill: Unblockable Blade, which can pierce through the shield while ignoring all damage reductions. The same applies to the Ash of War Piercing Fang.
- Impaling Thrust ignores 85% damage negation from blocks rather than ignoring all damage reductions.
