- This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and buffed with Magic and Consumables.
- Longsword can be upgraded by using Smithing Stones.
- Compared to the Lordsworn's Straight Sword, the Longsword has lower base damage, critical damage rating and range. However, under Flame Art, Sacred and Magic infusions, the Longsword has better elemental damage scaling than the Lordsworn's Straight Sword, whereas under Occult infusion, the Longsword offers better Strength scaling than the Lordsworn's Straight Sword.

- NOTE: As of Patch 1.08, Straight Swords poise damage has been reduced only on PVP.
- NOTE: As of Patch 1.09, the scaling values of this weapon were changed. Please refer to the Upgrades Table of this weapon below. Additionally, the running attack speed, first attack speed and speed of guard counter of straight sword has increased. The attack recovery time has also decreased.
